KBS’s weekend drama “King’s Family” has scooped up an overwhelming 16th trophy on weekly TV charts.

The family drama kept sitting atop the AGB Nielson Media Research’s (Nielson Korea) for fourth month running after attracting an average 35.8 percent of total viewers during the week of December 17 and 22, the chart showed on Monday.

Sitting at the No. 2 position is the same channel’s weekly TV drama “Melody of Love,” which secured its runner-up place with an average mark of 25.9 percent in the same time frame.

KBS’s Sunday comedy show “Gag Concert” nabbed number three with a support of 19.8 percent of comedy lovers, while MBC’s weekdays drama “Princess Aurora” landed at No. 4 after drawing in an average 19.1 percent of drama manias.

Rounding off the top five is KBS’s weekdays drama “The Ruby Ring,” which jumped up to the place with an average figure of 18.9 percent.

Other popular TV shows last week were KBS’s daily prime time news show “KBS News 9,” MBC’s historic epic “Empress Ki, Battle of Flowers,” SBS’s new TV romcom “Love from Star,” MBC’s Saturday variety show “Infinite Challenge” and KBS’s morning soup “TV Novel: Eunhi.”

Meanwhile, TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistic) showed the top three programs in the different order and figures from Nielsen Korea’s ratings survey for last week.

“King’s Family” grabbed the top seed with an average rating of 35.4 percent, while “Melody of Love” and “Princess Aurora” followed the next two spots with average scores of 25.4 and 19.8, respectively.
