“Friday,” K-pop songstress IU’s follow-up tune to her successful swing jazz tune “The Red Shoes,” has dominated MelOn’s weekly singles chart for the second week in a row.

The song about a girl’s just-about-to-begin sweet romance topped MelOn’s weekly singles chart during December 30, 2013 and January 5, 2014, the Korea’s biggest music streaming service showed on Monday.

Following the two-week-running No. 1 song is “Wind That Blows,” the title tune to rock trio M.C. The Max’s first studio album in five years, “Unveiling.”

R&B vocalist LYn climbed up to the number three position with “My Destiny,” the romantic original soundtrack to Kim Soo-hyun, Jun Ji-hyun’s highly popular TV series “Love From Star.”

While rising hip-hop artist Beenzino’s new single “Dali, Van, Picasso” took one step down to No. 4, vocal group Brown Eyed Soul rounded off the top five with heart-sore after-love song “You.”

Other songs in the top ten last week were Jellyfish Entertainment artists’ season song “Winter Propose,” Seo In-guk and Zia’s hit duet song “Loved You,” M.C. The Max’s new track “We, In the Past,” WheeSung, Gummy’s R&B duet “Special Love” and Zia’s hit ballad “To Be Expected.”

Over on the albums chart, M.C. The Max’s “Unveiling” made a debut to No. 1, edging out last week’s chart-topper IU’s third repackaged studio album “Modern Times – Epilogue,” which include her top song “Friday.”

Accordingly, SISTAR Hyolyn’s solo debut album “LOVE&HATE” slid down to number three, followed by LYn’s single “My Destiny” and EXO’s season special EP “Miracles In December” in order.
