KBS weekend series “King’s Family” has continued to dominate weekly TV charts for amazing 18th week straight.

“King’s Family” succeeded to top AGB Nielson Media Research’s (Nielson Korea) weekly ratings chart after attracting an average 38.5 percent of total viewers during the week of December 30, 2013 and January 5, 2014.

KBS’s weekdays series “Melody of Love,” starring Dasom of girl group SISTAR and Baek Sung-hyun, also secured its runner-up place with an average mark of 26.3 percent in the same time frame.

Sitting at No. 3 is Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun’s SBS series “Love from Star,” which continued to sit at the position second week running after drawing in an average 23.5 percent of total viewers.

KBS’s daily drama series “The Ruby Ring” closed its curtain at the fourth place with an average viewership of 20.9 percent, while the same channel’s popular comedy show “Gag Concert” rounded off the top five after drawing in a 18.2 percent of comedy fans.

Other TV shows much beloved during year-end and New Year’s were KBS’s prime time news show “KBS News 9,” the same channel’s morning soap “TV Novel: Eunhui,” SBS’s top variety show “The Laws of the Jungle,” MBC’s Sunday variety show “Where Are You Going, Dad?/ Real Man” and SBS’s infotainment show “Wow How.”

In the meantime, TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistic) showed the top three programs in the same order yet with slightly different figures from Nielsen Korea’s ratings survey.

“King’s Family” grabbed the top seed with an average rating of 36.6 percent, while “Melody of Love” and “Love from Star” followed the next two spots with average scores of 26.7 and 21.9, respectively.
