The annual Seoul Jazz Festival has announced its first lineup for its event this year.
Production firm Private Curve said that its two days of festivities, to be held at the Olympic Park on May 17 and 18, will once again be graced by world-famous artists in jazz and other genres.
Some of those names include three-time Grammy Award-winning jazz bassist Charlie Haden’s Charlie Haden Quartet West, top tenor saxaphonist Joshua Redman’s Joshua Redman Quartet, and Grammy Award-winning pianist Eddie Palmieri’s Latin Jazz band.
Also, famed Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice will participate in the festival for the second consecutive year, and Erlend Øye of indie folk duo Kings of Convenience will bring his project Erlend Øye & Band to the event.
Having started in 2007, the Seoul Jazz Festival is into its eighth year and has hosted a number of internationally famous artists including Sergio Mendes, George Benson, and Pat Metheny.
