It looks like KBS’s weekend series “King’s Family,” also Korea’s most-watched TV show for close to two dozen consecutive weeks now, may be able to reach the 50 percent mark in viewership ratings.
According to AGB Nielson Media Research on Monday, “King’s Family” scored an average rating of 44.8 percent during the week of February 3 to 9 but on Sunday’s episode, a whopping 48.3 percent nationwide and 49.9 percent in the metropolitan area.
The show, which premiered in late August of last year, is now just two episodes away from wrapping up its run.
KBS’s weekday drama “Melody of Love” was in second place once again with an average score of 28.5 percent, posting a gain of 2.6 percent compared to the week before.
Remaining in third place also was Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun’s Wednesday and Thursday drama “Love from Star” with an average mark of 25.8 percent, the figure up by one percentage point from the week of January 27 to February 2.
MBC’s Monday-Tuesday series “Empress Ki, Battle of Flowers” stayed in fourth place with an average figure of 24.6 percent, as did KBS’s prime time news show “KBS News 9” in the fifth slot with an average mark of 20.8 percent.
