American musical group The Black Eyed Peas dropped a new track on October 26 that happens to feature none other than K-pop singer-songwriter, CL.

Will.i.am, Taboo, apl.de.ap, and CL came together to work on the track titled “DOPENESS,” which was produced by Will.i.am. By taking part in the actual making of the song, CL showed that she has the makings of a global musical artist.

“DOPENESS” is the sixth track on the new album by The Black Eyed Peas called Masters of the Sun Vol. 1, which consists of 12 songs. In her solo rap part in “DOPENESS,” CL shows off her brilliant rapping skills in English and seems to fit right in with The Black Eyed Peas while doing so.

This isn’t the first time that CL has worked alongside The Black Eyed Peas. In 2013, CL was featured along with the other members of 2NE1 in a solo track by Will.i.am called “Gettin’ Dumb.” CL and The Black Eyed Peas shared a stage for a joint performance at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and at Summer Sonic 2017 in Japan.  These two musical acts – which have shown off their synergy a number of times –  have demonstrated once again through the new song that they have an undeniable chemistry.

CL – who announced that she would be crossing over into the US market as a solo artist in 2014 – started to get attention globally in 2015 after being featured in “Doctor Pepper” by DJ/producer Diplo, as well as through the release of her single, “Hello Bitches.” At the time, leading international media outlets such as Billboard, FUSE TV, ComplexTeen Vogue, The Guardian, and HYPETRAK spotlighted CL’s US debut.

On August 18, 2016, CL released a single titled “LIFTED” and became the first Korean solo female artist to enter the Billboard Hot 100. Apple Music also selected CL as their New Artist of the Week upon the release of the single. In the same year, the multi-talented singer held her first North American tour which took her to nine different cities.
