K-pop idol girl group GFriend has become the first group of 2019 to get a grand slam (achieved when a song reaches No. 1 on four of South Korea’s televised music programs).

GFriend took home their sixth win on January 27 when “Sunrise,” the title track off their second studio album Time For Us, took over the top spot on SBS’s Inkigayo.

Starting with their first win on SBS MTV’s The Show on the 22nd, GFriend’s “Sunrise” has now taken over the No. 1 spot on MBC Music’s Show Champion, Mnet’s M Countdown,  KBS2’s Music Bank,  MBC’s Show! Music Core, and SBS’s Inkigayo.

“Sunrise” is the fourth song from GFriend that has given them the grand slam title; other songs include “Rough,” “NAVILLERA,” and “Time for the moon night.” GFriend also set a record by racking up a total of 53 music program wins.

GFriend’s “Sunrise” was written as a continuation of their previously released single “Time for the moon night.” With their new album and new single, the group has shown that their musical skills have become more mature and refined.
