Song Joon Ki established his presence on the new tvN television drama, Arthdal Chronicles, even after just making a brief appearance.

Set during the ancient times in a mythical land called Arth, Arthdal Chronicles tells the fateful story of heroes who are writing their own legends. Song Joong Ki plays the character of Eunseom, who is born half-human and half-neanderthal.

Arthdal Chronicles, which premiered on June 1, follows the lives of the various tribes that live in Arth. Eunseom is born to Asa Hon (Choo Ja Hyun) and a Neanthal named Ragazeu. In order to protect her son, Asa Hon takes her son and goes out in search of a land called Iark, a place that is unaffected by any sort of power or influence. Asa Hon dies after reaching Iark, and the audience gets to see Eunseum (Song Joong Ki) – who has grown up with the Wahan Tribe – for the first time as he calls out for his mother in his sleep.

Song Joong Ki steals the spotlight immediately with his light curly hair and purple lips. His character is seen looking taken aback as he wakes to find members of the Wahan Tribe looking at him strangely as they surround him, and to the interrogation of Yeolsan (Jung Suk Yong) who asks, “Is it true that you dream?”

Arthdal Chronicles airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. on tvN.
