Jeon Somi will be revealing the differences between the polar opposite singing styles of different record labels on JTBC’s Idol Room.

Somi, who recently made her solo debut with the song “BIRTHDAY,” will be making an appearance on an episode of Idol Room that is scheduled to air at 6:30 p.m. on June 18.

While recording for the show, Somi talked about the changes she experienced after changing labels and signing with The Black Label. When the show’s MC, Jeong Hyeong Don, asked “Aren’t the singing styles between the two labels different?” Somi confirmed the differences and explained, “I went to the karaoke room with my friends, and they told me that the way I sing has changed.”

Somi showed the differences between the singing techniques by singing her new single. “Whereas JYP is about ‘half air half sound,’ The Black Label puts more emphasis on ‘feeling,’” she explained. Somi also showed off her “hip-hop swag walk” after talking about how “because there are a lot of rappers at the label, even the way [she walks] has changed.”

Idol Room featuring Jeon Somi will be broadcast at 6:30 p.m. on June 18 (KST).
