Actor Chun Woo Hee has captivated viewers with her one-of-a-kind charm.
The actor has been dazzling viewers as the wacky screenwriter Lim Jin Joo on the JTBC drama, Be Melodramatic. It seems as if the joining of the script of director/screenwriter Lee Byeong Heon – who has a delicious way with words – and Chun Woo Hee – an actor who can pull off any role – has resulted in the birth of an extraordinary character.
On the episode that aired on the 24th, Jin Joo’s unusual coping method was revealed when the drama that she had been worked on failed to get a time slot. Upon being met with failure after putting her heart and soul into her writing in order to get the drama on air, Jin Joo decides to sit still and do absolutely nothing. Beom Soo (played by Ahn Jae Hong) comes over to see her and makes her tteokbokki. The contrast between Jin Joo, who is determined to not do anything even as time passes, and Beom Soo, who can’t stand the atmosphere, definitely draws laughter.
The subtle change of emotions experienced by Beom Soo, as he starts to fall for Jin Joo’s off-the-wall charm, and her ex-boyfriend Hwan Dong (played by Lee Yu Jin) adds another interesting element to the show. Not only does Beom Soo tell Jin Joo that he’s grown fond of her, he also finds himself unable to hold back his laughter when he thinks of her. Jin Joo also appears to feel a little empty when Beom Soo is gone. Meanwhile, Hwan Dong sparks the viewers’ curiosity when he looks to be torn after hearing that Beom Soo may have feelings for Jin Joo.
Chun Woo Hee has used her remarkable ability to bring any character to life to create a charming character that you can’t help but fall for. In addition, as all signs are pointing to a new romance budding, viewers are interested to see what a Chun Woo Hee-esque romantic comedy will look like. The viewers are also continuing to root for the actress, who is being recognized for her unconventional appeal as the show garners more interest.
