In celebration of BTS’s Jungkook’s birthday on September 1, fans from all over the world flocked to the group’s Twitter page to wish Jungkook a happy birthday. Also on hand to offer his own birthday wishes was none other than Justin Bieber.
Justin’s tweet read: “Happy bday #JUNGKOOK. They ain’t ready :) now watch this tweet go crazy” ARMY from all around the globe have been leaving congratulatory messages in celebration of Jungkook’s birthday. The other members of BTS have also been getting in on the action by tweeting messages to the birthday boy and uploading pictures.
Jungkook took to the group’s fan community, BTS Weverse, on the 1st to write the following message to his fans: “If it weren’t for ARMY, my birthday wouldn’t have been this happy. Seeing the birthday ads and good works that you all did for me, made me feel very excited, happy, and thankful even before my birthday.”
Leading up to the idol’s birthday, BTS fans from the world over put up birthday ads on electronic displays in various areas and made donations in his name. Jungkook’s Korean fan club, “Jungkook Supporters,” and his overseas fan club, “Golden Union,” donated 7 million won (US$5,782) and 1 million won (US$826), respectively, to his hometown of Busan. His fans from the Philippines made a donation in his name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and also sent basic necessities to the town of Orion in Bataan province, Philippines, which was affected by a massive fire at the beginning of the year.
