NCT DREAM has been honored with making Billboard’s “21 Under 21” list for the second year in a row.
The group was the only Asian musical act to be ranked in Billboard’s “21 Under 21 2019: Music’s Next Generation” list, which was published on September 12 (local time).
NCT DREAM confirmed their global appeal as next-generation K-pop leaders by making it on to the list for two consecutive years, and becoming the first Asian artists to be named as one of the “21 Under 21” for two years in a row.
In a list decided by an artist’s “impact on consumer behavior, as measured by such metrics as album sales, track sales, streaming volume, social media impressions and radio/TV audiences reached; company growth; career trajectory; reputation among peers; and overall impact on the industry specifically during the past 12 months,” artists such as Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, and Juice WRLD were selected in addition to NCT DREAM.
Billboard highlighted the fact that 2019 has been the group’s most successful year yet and made mention of NCT DREAM’s latest EP, We Boom: The 3rd Mini Album, debuting on the Artist 100 chart in August.
In addition to topping the iTunes Top Albums charts in 27 regions around the world with their third EP We Boom, NCT DREAM had the number one song of the week on QQ Music’s (China’s largest music site) k-pop chart, came in at No. 90 on Billboard’s Artist 100 chart and No. 3 on the Social 50 chart, and they also topped domestic albums charts and music programs.
