K-pop girl group MOMOLAND’s label, MLD Entertainment, signed a co-management agreement on October 2 with ABS-CBN at the media group’s offices in Manila, and officially announced plans for the group to break into the Filipino market.
As a massive media conglomerate and the largest broadcaster in the Philippines, ABS-CBN produces and airs more than 25 local broadcasts in the country.
It was reported that the agreement signed on this day would expand MOMOLAND’s music and entertainment activities into the Philippines and beyond, to include the Southeast Asian market as a whole.
The group held a special charity event called Good Friend in Manila on October 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in the Philippines, to help underprivileged children in the country.
The charity event is expected to be held every year, with appearance fees of performers being donated in full to underprivileged children.
