Taeyang from the group BIGBANG has been celebrating his military discharge on social media.
Taeyang uploaded an Instagram post on November 10 that read: “2018.03.12 ~ 2019.11.10 #Bravo_is_my_life”. Along with the post, he also uploaded a picture in which he is smiling and saluting while wearing his military uniform. He also revealed group photos taken with fellow soldiers and a photo of himself with the other soldiers striking funny poses.
Another post showing a picture of an embroidery commemorating his discharge had a description that said: “Dope discharge. congratz!” The embroidery shows a logo that represents the military base where he served, along with the dates of his military service.
The singer also made sure to take a commemorative photo with the fans who showed up to congratulate his discharge from the military. The fans in the picture are holding signs that say thing like “My light, my Taeyang” and “I love you, Young Bae”. Fellow BIGBANG member Daesung, who was also discharged on the same day, can be seen in the picture. Taeyang showed his love for his fans by writing “Thank you! I love you!” under the photo with his fans.
His fans made sure to show him some love right back by commenting “I love you too,” “Congratulations on your discharge,” and “Good work” under the post.
Taeyang and Daesung were officially discharged from the military on the morning of November 10 at the Ground Operations Command in Yongin. Taeyang enlisted on March 12, 2018 and served at the ROKA 5th Artillery Brigade in Cherwon, Gangwon Province. Daesung enlisted on the following day and served at the 27th Infantry Division in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province. In consideration of the press and fans who were expected to show up, the Ministry of National Defense decided to move the discharge location of the two singers to Yongin as the military bases where they served are in the border territory where the African swine fever (ASF) virus has been detected.
