Girl group MAMAMOO has snatched yet another music show win with new single, “HIP.”
Due to the December 22nd episode of SBS’s Inkigayo being canceled, the winner for the fourth week of December was announced via the show’s official website. With a total score of 6,231 points, MAMAMOO’S “HIP” landed at the No. 1 spot. The group managed to be ranked at the top despite being finished with their promotional activities, and they beat out artists such as Baek Yerin and EXO in the process.
With their most recent trophy, MAMAMOO has officially taken home six music show wins and proved that the craze surrounding the song has not yet died down. The song has gotten the attention of the public for reclaiming its spot at the top, in addition to being named a candidate for the No. 1 song for three straight weeks after the completion of the promotions for the song.
As evidenced by “HIP” dominating the charts immediately after its release and its long run within the top 10 of the charts, it is clear that people can’t get enough of MAMAMOO.
MAMAMOO has become the cream of the crop and has received a massive amount of love on music shows and singles/albums charts for its second studio album, reality in BLACK.
MAMAMOO, who has shown continuous growth even after being in the industry for six years, was also ranked for five consecutive weeks on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. In addition, in a December brand reputation report for girl groups published by rekorea.net, MAMAMOO took the top spot by an overwhelming margin.
