As the craze for ZICO’s new single, “Any Song,” continues to grow, even international media outlets are offering up praise for the song.
American entertainment media outlet Billboard recently spotlighted ZICO’s “Any Song” for its international news section. “‘Any Song’ is a witty tune that acts as a lyrical stream of consciousness… and [it has] spurred a viral ‘Any Song’ challenge which saw the likes of popular South Korean celebrities such as Lee Hyori and Chung Ha jamming to the song,” Billboard explains.
Taiwan’s largest online music site KKBOX and Brazilian media outlet ptAnime have also covered the song and the “Any Song” challenge. KKBOX described the song’s choreography as “trendy” and “addictive,” while ptAnime wrote that “‘Any Song’ is a massive hit and has achieved a certified all-kill.”
In addition, American media company BuzzFeed also recently published an interview with ZICO, further confirming the global popularity of the multi-talented star and his new single.
The domestic popularity of “Any Song” shows no signs of dying down. After hitting No. 1 on domestic music charts in just two hours after its release on January 13, the song was still at the top of various charts – such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, Olleh Music, FLO, and Soribada – as of 9 a.m on January 19.
“Any Song” is a dancehall-infused track with a bouncy rhythm and witty chorus, and was written and composed by ZICO.
