BTS’s newest and fourth studio album, Map of the Soul: 7, is on the verge of breaking a new album sales record in Korea.

According to numbers published on the 24th by Hanteo Chart, which tracks the sales of albums in the country, sales of Map of the Soul: 7 have exceeded three million copies in approximately three days since its official release on February 21.

Previously, the album sold 4.1 million global pre-orders, making it BTS’s most pre-ordered album. Map of the Soul: 7 sold a total of 2,653,050 copies in the first day alone, which also makes 7 the group’s fastest-selling album.

Directly after the release of the album, the title track “ON” immediately took over the No. 1 spot on five major real-time music charts in Korea (Melon, Genie, Bugs, Flo, and Soribada), with the other songs on the album landing in the upper ranks of the charts. “ON” is currently (as of February 24) standing strong at the top of the charts.

In addition to dominating domestic charts, Map of the Soul: 7 also broke a record by landing at the top of iTunes Top Albums charts in 91 countries and regions, while “ON” occupied the No. 1 spot on the Top Songs charts of 83 countries and regions.
