Singer Taeyeon has opened up for the first time since the passing of her father.
On March 13, Taeyeon wrote on Instagram: “I would like to express my deep gratitude for all the many people who wished me a happy birthday and offered words of consolation. A countless number of people reached out to me, embraced me warmly, and comforted me.”
“To those of you who dropped everything and ran over, and to those who sent sincere messages from afar, I apologize that I won’t be able to reach out to each one of you to thank you,” she added.
Taeyeon’s father passed away on March 9, which also, sadly, happens to be the singer’s birthday.
“I think March 9 will be a day that my family will never be able to forget. From the first day that I began doing music at a young age, my father was with me every step of the way. He used to start the car first before I’d get in, and would always be on the move for his daughter. Even now, I know that he’s on the move somewhere for all of us. I believe that he’s in a better place, watching over us and protecting us,” wrote Taeyeon.
She then wrapped up her post with: “Dad, I, Taeyeon, love you so much.”
