“My Time,” the solo track from BTS’s main vocalist Jungkook, recently surpassed 10 million plays on YouTube.
As of April 2, “My Time” on BTS’s official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV, had racked up a total of 10.16 million plays.
The track can be found on BTS’s 4th studio album, Map of the Soul: 7, which was released on February 2.
“I used time difference (Korean title of the song) as a metaphor for the stories I have inside of the new things I’ve felt and of the things I’ve missed. I talked about what kind of place I’m in, and about whether I’m walking in the same place as others,” Jungkook explained.
In “My Time,” Jungkook uses rhythmic R&B vocals and sing-rap to share his personal stories about how he’s continued to run full steam ahead without looking back, ever since his days as a trainee for BTS.
Since its release, “My Time” has landed on a slew of charts and streaming services, including iTunes charts in 80 countries, Apple Music charts in 65 countries, Billboard’s Hot 100 (No. 84), Digital Song Sales (No. 2), World Digital Song Sales (No. 2), Hot Candian Digital Song Sales (No. 20), and Billboard Korea K-pop 100 (No. 46).
