Park Ji Min has announced that she will be making a new start under the name Jamie.
A new post uploaded to Jamie’s Instagram account on April 21 read: “I’m happy to announce that I’m starting another chapter of my career with Warner Music Korea as Jamie. It’s a new start for me and I’m so excited!”
On the 21st, Jamie reportedly signed an exclusive contract with international music label Warner Music Korea and changed the name she will be promoting under in the future.
“We think very highly of Jamie’s limitless potential and musical abilities. We plan to give our full support to Jamie so that she will be able to work actively as a solo artist,” explained a representative from Warner Music Korea.
After coming in first place in the first season of SBS’s reality TV competition series K-pop Star, Jamie made her debut in the K-pop industry as one half of the duo 15&. The group made a name for themselves following their debut with hits such as “I Dream,” “Somebody,” “Can’t Hide It,” and “Sugar.”
Starting with her first solo single in 2015 titled “Hopeless Love,” Jamie began to establish herself as a skilled musician and solo artist with the release of music from EPs 19 to 20 and jiminxjamie.
