Singer Lee Hi, who recently moved labels to AOMG, shed light on the theory that she was a victim of YG Entertainment’s system.
On the 23rd, Lee Hi appeared on YouTube channel 1theK Originals’ Look Me Up series and refuted claims that she was a “victim of YG.”
During the episode, Lee Hi replied to an online comment saying that she was “the biggest victim of YG’s system” and said, “They promoted me so much that I wondered if a company could invest and promote a singer making their debut to that extent.” She added, “I don’t think of myself as a victim. I don’t want people to feel sorry for me.”
“At some point, people started to feel bad for me. I think it took [YG] a long time because they valued me and wanted to release a good quality album,” she explained.
After emphasizing once again that she “[doesn’t] want people feeling sorry for [her],” she tossed a question back to the viewers, asking, “Why do you look at me that way?”
On July 23, Lee Hi announced that she had signed a contract with AOMG and made a comeback with her new single, “Holo.”
