BTS has been nominated in three categories for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The nominees for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards were announced via MTV’s official website and social media accounts on July 30 (local time).

The group was announced as nominees for the Best Pop, Best K-pop, and Best Choreography categories.

BTS received the nod for Best Pop and Best K-pop for the group’s title track “ON” from their fourth studio album, Map of the Soul: 7, which was released on February 21.

Held annually in the US, the MTV Music Video Awards will be presenting awards for 21 categories this year, including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and more. Two new special categories have been added this year as a result of COVID-19: Best Quarantine Performance and Best Music Video from Home. The winners for 15 categories will be decided by online vote, with the remaining 6 categories being determined by industry experts.

The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on MTV on August 30.
