Actor Park Bo Gum’s management agency has released an official statement addressing their artist’s upcoming enlistment on the 31st.
“The information regarding Park Bo Gum’s enlistment that was reported on the 24th was based on the information that was posted on his fan site,” revealed Park’s agency, Blossom Entertainment, before going on to make additional announcements.
They continued, “Park Bo Gum is scheduled to enlist as a cultural public relations officer for the Navy on Monday, August 31. Details regarding the time and location of his enlistment will be kept private, and there will be no special enlistment procedure. When he enters the enlistment site, he will be doing so right away without waving or bowing to a crowd.”
The agency went on to add, “Although we feel that it is unfortunate that he will be enlisting in the military without even saying a simple goodbye, we have come to this decision as we feel that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, now is the time to practice social distancing and be considerate of everyone’s health. We ask for your understanding regarding this decision, as it was made with the health and safety of the fans and journalists in mind.”
Park Bo Gum will be enlisting in the Navy as a cultural public relations officer on the 31st, after which he will be completing six weeks of basic training and going to his assigned base. Park recently wrapped up shooting for Record of Youth, a new drama scheduled to premiere on tvN on September 7 at 9 p.m. (KST)
