TWICE is set to make their comeback on October 26 with the release of their second studio album.
The group’s label, JYP Entertainment, posted a teaser image to TWICE’s social media account on October 1 that shows their schedule for this month.
October is a special month for TWICE. October 20 marks the fifth anniversary of the group’s debut, and October 30 marks the third anniversary of the release of the group’s first album, Twicetagram.
From October 5 to 9, JYPE will be releasing a video to celebrate the group’s fifth anniversary. TWICE also has plans to commemorate the occasion with their fans.
During “eyes opening week,” from October 11 to 26, teasers for the new album will be unveiled to raise the anticipation for the group’s comeback.
The pictures of the closed, winking, and open eyes on the 7th, 19th, and 26th have been sparking the fans’ curiosity about what kind of content they can expect on the said dates.
The upcoming comeback comes five months after the release of TWICE’s 9th EP, MORE & MORE, which dropped on June 1. MORE & MORE swept various domestic and international charts, and took the group to new heights in terms of popularity.
In July, the EP became the best-selling record by a girl group on the Gaon Music Chart by selling a total of 563,000 copies (based on Gaon Chart shipments).
Through the ninth EP’s title track, “MORE & MORE,” TWICE earned their 106th music show win, which is another record for a K-pop girl group.
The EP was also a success overseas. MORE & MORE landed at No. 200 on the Billboard 200 chart on June 13, making the album the first from TWICE to rank on the Billboard 200.
From their debut song, “OOH-AHH,” released in October 2015, to their most recent single, “MORE & MORE,” TWICE has achieved one brilliant success after another. The group’s fan’s and the general public will, no doubt, be waiting to see how the group will rewrite history once again with their second studio album.
