ENHYPEN’s first album sold over 280,000 copies in the first week of its release, making it the most successful debut album from a K-pop group in 2020. 

According to numbers published by Hanteo Chart on December 7, ENHYPEN’s debut album, BORDER: DAY ONE, sold a total of 280,873 copies in its first week (November 30 to December 6). On the first day of its release alone, the album topped daily charts by selling 229,991 copies. 

ENHYPEN has also had success on various global charts. BORDER: DAY ONE climbed up to the top five of the iTunes Albums chart in 34 countries immediately after its release, and the album’s title track, “Given-Taken,” also landed in the top five of the Top Songs chart in 17 countries.

The rookie group has seen eye-catching results in the US and Japan in particular. BORDER: DAY ONE debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon daily albums chart dated for December 4, and it topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in Japan, as well as Line Music’s real-time top 100 chart. In the US, each one of the six songs on the album, including title track “Given-Taken,” were ranked on the iTunes Top Songs chart. 

The music video for “Given-Taken” has also received an explosive response from global fans. Within three hours and 20 minutes of the video being unveiled, it surpassed one million views, and it reached the ten million mark around 7:20 p.m. on December 1, 25 hours and 20 minutes after its release. By December 7, the video racked up 16 million views. 

All eyes are on ENHYPEN – who have been garnering the attention of K-pop fans the world over since before their official debut – to see if they will truly establish themselves as the rookies of the year.
