Soloist Chung Ha took part in her first official event since recovering from COVID-19.
The 10th Gaon Chart Music Awards aired live on the 13th via Mnet and Gaon Chart’s YouTube channel. Super Junior’s Leeteuk and ITZY’s Lia were on hand to host the event.
Chung Ha and Danish singer Christopher won the Digital Music – Monthly award for September for their duet, “Bad Boy.” Chung Ha gave her acceptance speech via video. Fans were especially glad to see the “Dream of You” singer as it was her first public appearance since her COVID-19 diagnosis.
“Thank you. I also won an award last year at the Gaon Chart Music Awards for Record Production of the Year. I’ve made lots of wonderful memories. Thank you for giving me this amazing award this year. Thank you for all the love you’ve shown for ‘Bad Boy,’” Chung Ha said.
Fans were also treated to a small spoiler of the singer’s upcoming single. “The new song isn’t a dance track. The song is composed of good lyrics and instruments,” Chung Ha unveiled.
Chung Ha also sent a video message to Christopher. “Although we’ve never met in person, I’m happy that we received this award. It was an honor to be able to do this project with you. I hope we can meet someday and perform this song on stage together.”
