Actor Do Kyung Soo, better known as EXO’s D.O., has been cast to star in the film, Secret (director: Seo You Min).
Secret, which will be a remake of the 2008 Taiwanese film of the same name, is a fantasy romance about a piano prodigy and transfer student who meets a female high school student in an old practice room while she is playing a mysterious song. When the original Secret first premiered, it was described as a film that blended the feelings of first love that transcend space and time, along with dreamy classical music. The “legendary teenage romantic drama” is still beloved by audiences.
In the Korean remake of the film, Do Kyung Soo will be playing the lead male role, originally played by Jay Chou. Kyung Soo has solidified his presence as an actor over the years by playing a wide range of characters in the TV drama 100 Days My Prince and films such as, Swing Kids, Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds, and My Annoying Brother.
Kyung Soo is expected to show more depth as an actor in Secret. The female lead who will be starring opposite him in the movie, has yet to be determined and will be selected through upcoming auditions.
Secret will be produced by Hive Media Corp., which has presented a number of major pictures in the past, such as Inside Men, The Man Standing Next, and Deliver Us from Evil. On hand to direct the film is Seo You Min, who made his directorial debut with the soon-to-be-released movie, Recalled, starring Seo Yea Ji and Kim Kang Woo. Seo was also credited as the screenwriter for director Hur Jin Ho’s Happiness, April Snow, and You Call It Passion.
Secret is scheduled to begin production during the latter half of this year.
