K-pop group SS501’s Kim Kyu-jong will be opening the last set of his Asia fan meeting tour in Seoul, titled “Thank U♡ThanKYU with TripleS,” this weekend.
Kim posted a hand-written letter on his official website today that says he will be fulfilling his the two-year mandatory military service starting July and expects to enjoy his last official event, before joining the army, at the meet-and-greet set to open at Yonsei University in Seoul on June 3.
Kim made his debut as a member of boy band SS501 along with Kim Hyun-joong, Park Jung-min, Heo Young-saeng and Kim Hyung-joon with their first self-titled album in 2005. The group released various hit songs such as “Snow Prince,” U R Man” and “Love Ya.”
He signed with B2M Entertainment along with Heo Young-saeng after their group contract with DSP Media expired in June 2010. Kim has since tried acting in TV series and in a musical, and released his first solo album, “TURN ME ON,” last September.
Meanwhile, SS501’s other member Heo Young-saeng announced yesterday that he will be debuting in Japan by releasing the first Japanese album in August and is expecting to hold a concert there the next month.
