After fulfilling her activities overseas, Korean actress Nam Gyu-ri will star alongside Cho Yeo-jung, Kim Kang-woo and Jung Suk-won in an upcoming SBS TV series.
Nam’s agency, Eyagi Entertainment, announced in a press release today that the actress has signed onto play the role of Yoon Sae-na in “Lovers of Haeundae” (tentative title), scheduled to begin its air in August.
The character that Nam will portray is from a well-off family, with her father being the Minister of Justice, and her fiance is Jung’s character, Choi Jung-hyuk.
“I am really nervous and excited about making my return to the small screen in Korea. The script was a great read and I have high expectations for the show,” Nam was quoted as saying.
Nam made her debut in 2006 as the leader of female trio SeeYa but left the band in April 2009 after her contract with her former agency ended.
She pursued a solo career thereafter, appearing in several films and dramas with her most notable acting role in 2008 horror film “Death Bell” alongside Korean actor Kim Beom.
She recently starred in SBS TV series “49 Days” (2011) opposite Jung Il-woo and Lee Yo-won and has been cast in her first Chinese-language drama “My Amnesia Girl” with singer Jang Woo-hyuk on Hunan TV.
