Preparing to make his comeback to the entertainment industry, Korean comedian and host Kang Ho-dong may make his return as the host to SBS’ variety program, “Star King.”

An official with the show told the magazine Thursday that the broadcasting company is currently in discussions on Kang returning as the main host of “Star King.”

“The executives are considering whether or not Kang will step back into the spotlight as the emcee, while nothing has been finalized,” the SBS rep said.

News of Kang’s return was reported by various local media outlets early Wednesday morning, saying that he was set to make his comeback as the host of the show.

Currently, the show is being hosted by Super Junior’s Lee Teuk, TV personality Boom and comedienne Park Mi-sun.

Meanwhile, after announcing his retirement from the entertainment industry almost a year ago due to his tax invasion scandal, Kang inked an exclusive contract with SM C&C (Culture&Contents), a subsidiary company of SM Entertainment, last month.

Kang has been one of the most successful TV personalities in the country after gaining years of experience in TV hosting since 1993.

However, Kang announced his retirement from the industry in September of last year when public furor mounted over his alleged tax invasion.
