2PM member Junsu has officially changed his name to Jun. K.

The idol singer tweeted on his official Twitter account Tuesday that read, “Everyone, I want you to know that I had to change my name following my family’s opinion. While my new real name is Min-jun, I will now use my artist name as Jun. K. I won’t use ‘Junsu’ anymore.”

The star’s decision came after hearing from his acquaintances that it is difficult to distinguish his name from JYJ’s Kim Junsu.

Many of his Twitter followers are showing their respect for the “Hands Up” singer by leaving supporting comments on the post.

2PM’s Jun. K is one of the main vocalists in the six-man band that has become popular throughout Asia since making their debut in 2008.

He also debuted as a lyricist in 2011 with “Don’t Go” under the name Jun. K.
