Korean actor Cha Tae-hyun and songstress UIE of After School have revealed their first script reading session of KBS’ upcoming TV series, “Jeon Woochi.”

The show’s promoter 3HW revealed several pictures of Cha and UIE practicing their lines alongside other cast members during their first script rehearsal at KBS in Yeoido, Seoul on October 3.

Other supporting actors and actresses including Lee Hee-joon, Baek Jin-hee and After School’s Juyeon also took part that day, the officials said.

Helmed by director Kang Il-soo of “The Land of Wind” (KBS, 2008), “Jeon Woochi” originated from the old Korean tale about a heroic figure named Jeon Woochi. Though based on the same original, the forthcoming drama has a different story from 2009 film “Woochi.”

The period drama set in the Joseon Dynasty period enters around Jeon Woochi who loses his father-like person Hong Gil-dong and his lover Hong Moo-yeon to his friend. Jeon turns into a fierce avenger and punisher to the evil and becomes a hero against his will.

Packed with veteran scene-stealers Kim Kab-soo, Seong Dong-il and Lee Byeong-joon, the fantasy action drama is slated to air on November 21 when the current hit series “The Innocent Man” ends its run.
