Female duo SISTAR 19 has proved their overwhelming popularity by topping the Gaon singles chart two weeks in a row, while Super Junior K.R.Y. debuted at No. 1 on the albums chart.
The sub-unit of the female quintet SISTAR dominated the chart with their hit dance song, “Gone Not Around Any Longer,” during the week of February 10 to 16, Gaon’s official website showed on Thursday.
The two female singers enjoyed enormous responses, grabbing trophies from the two TV music shows last week, Mnet’s “M! CountDown” and KBS “Music Bank.”
There was no big change among the top ten on the chart except for the female duo Davichi making their way to the tenth spot with new ballad “Don’t You Know,” also the original soundtrack of the KBS action blockbuster “IRIS 2.”
While hip-hop duo LeeSSang’s “Tears” and soloist Huh Gak’s “Monodrama” each secured their second and third spots, Baechigi’s smash hit “Shower of Tears” climbed up to No. 4.
Love song “1440,” Huh Gak’s first title song accompanied by cute dance moves, rounded off the top five.
Other K-pop songs in the top ten slot were singer/actor Seo In-guk’s love song “All I Want Is You,” male quintet 4Men’s lovesick ballad “Hello It’s Me,” idol band CNBLUE’s powerful rock “I’m Sorry,” R&B artist Ra. D’s awaited comeback “It’s Been So Long” and Davichi’s “Don’t You Know.”
Meanwhile, Super Junior’s ballad sub-unit Super Junior K.R.Y. grabbed the top seed with their first Japanese single “Promise You” on the albums chart.
Girl group Rainbow ranked at No. 2 with their first full-length album “Rainbow Syndrome,” while balladeer Kim Jin-ho of SG Wannabe landed at the third position with his solo debut album “Today.”
