ULALA SESSION's Leader Passes Away

Korean dance group ULALA SESSION’s leader Lim Yoon-taek has passed away from stomach cancer at the age of 33.

Lim died at a hospital in Seoul on February 11, surrounded by his family and other four ULALA SESSION members, his agency ULALA company said on Monday.

Many of his close friends, including singers Kang Ta, K. Will, Busker Busker`s Jang Beom-june and PSY, visited the hospital to give their condolences to his family the following day.

After the four-day funeral, Lim will rest in peace at Bundang Memorial Park located in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

The lead performer of the quintet, who came first at the Korean TV audition “Superstar K 3” in 2011, has pursued vigorous activities despite of his struggle to beat the stomach cancer.

After working in various dance groups from his high school days, he formed ULALA SESSION and contributed biggest to the win of the group, known for their exciting and witty performances.

The group’s popularity steadily grew after they dropped the first mini-album “ULALA SENSATION” in May last year and hit the road for a nationwide tour the following month.

Though fighting against the cancer, Lim published a biographical essay book in July and tied the knot in August. He leaves a young wife and baby daughter.

PSY, the writer of the group`s first title track of ULALA SESSION “Beautiful Night,” flew to Seoul from Malaysia to attend Lim`s funeral scheduled for February 12.
