Lotte Cinema is planning to open a screen in China named after rising Hallyu star Park Hae-jin.
The multiplex company is to launch the screen with Park’s brand at the Lotte theater located in Tianjin, China on February 27, Lotte Entertainment said on February 6.
On the opening day, Park will appear himself at the theater which will be decorated with distinctive cultural installations, including the Park Hae-jin memorial hall and hall of fame.
The “Seo-young, My Daughter” star has participated in designing the interior of the new screen, while part of the profits from the screenings and his merchandise sold there will be donated under the name of Park and Lotte Cinema.
Lotte Cinema runs a total of 91 theaters in Korea and the company began to expand its overseas business in China with the opening of the six-screen theater in Shenyang in 2010. The theater chain runs eight cinemas in the country as of February 2013.
