Some of the hottest K-pop acts will perform at Sapporo, Japan’s fifth largest city.
Korean ballad singer Park Hyo-shin, idol group MBLAQ, D-Unit and Big Star will perform at the 2013 K-POP FESTIVAL on February 9 at the Nitori Culture Hall in Sapporo, Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange [KOFICE] said.
The upcoming event is one of official culture programs for the 64th Sapporo Snow Festival, to be held for six days from February 5. The annual event is well-known for drawing in 3 million people every year.
Into the fourth edition, the K-POP FESTIVAL is co-hosted by KOFICE, Sapporo Tourist Association and NPO Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange Association.
While the theme of the music fest is “Love & Peace in Harmony for One Asia,” all proceeds from the performances will be donated to Good Friends Save the Children [GFSC].
Big Star and D-Unit will also visit the Sapporo Childcare Center and do volunteer services with KOFICE.
“We hope that the K-POP FESTIVAL will become an opportunity to promote Korean pop culture to audiences from all over the world and improve friendship between Korea and Japan,” KOFICE officials said.
