K-pop rookie group VIXX has come back to the local music scene with more intense looks and sounds.
The six-member idol group dropped their first mini-album “hyde” on Monday at noon Korea time, which is also the first anniversary of their debut, the band’s promoter LUNE communication said in a press release the same day.
In the music video to their electronic pop title tune also named “hyde,” VIXX’s members turn into Mr. Hydes and show eye-catching performances in Gothic-themed props and sets, following the dark concept they showed as love-wounded vampires in their third single “On and On” four months ago.
The new album lists a total of five tracks including hard beat tune “Light Me Up” [translated title], “hyde,” medium-tempo love song “You’re Mine” [translated title], groovy synth-pop “CHAOS” and the group’s first ballad track “Love Letter.”
The newbie group will also hold their first debut anniversary party at the UNIQLO-AX Hall in Seoul on Monday at 7:30 p.m. where they will show their first performance of “hyde” to fans, while the first televised performance will be on Thursday’s “M! CountDown” on Mnet.
VIXX, formed of LEO, HONGBIN, N, KEN, RAVI and HYUK, broke into the music scene with their first single “SUPER HERO” in May of last year under Jellyfish Entertainment that also manages male solo artists Sung Si-kyung, Park Hyo-shin, Lee Seok-hoon and Seo In-guk.
