Broadcaster MBC’s fantasy drama “Kang Chi, the Beginning” is staying firmly atop Monday and Tuesday prime time TV ratings charts.
The series grabbed an average viewership rating of 15.4 percent on May 20 and 21, according to Nielsen Korea on Wednesday, making it the seventh consecutive week for the show to top the chart.
KBS’s “The Queen of Office” closed its curtains last night with an average score of 14.3 percent, which made it the No. 2 show in the same time slot.
A new series named “Shark” [translated title] starring actor Kim Nam-gil and actress Son Ye-jin will premiere next week.
SBS’s historical drama “Jang Ok Jeong” stayed in the bottom place with an average mark of 9.4 percent.
Meanwhile, TNmS’s [Total National Multimedia Statistic] survey showed the dramas in the same order, with average viewership ratings of 14.7 percent for “Kang Chi, the Beginning,” 12.3 percent for “The Queen of Office,” and 10.4 percent for “Jang Ok Jeong.”
* Correction: The official name of MBC’s current Monday and Tuesday is “Kang Chi, the Beginning,” not “The Gu Family Book” as TenAsia has reported in the past.
