K-pop boy band U-KISS will soon embark on their first concert tour in South America, proving their distinctive status in the overseas K-pop scene.

U-KISS’s first-ever South America tour will be held in three countries including Peru, Colombia and Mexico, kicking off in Peru next Saturday at 8 p.m. local time, an official with the group’s agency NH Media told TenAsia Wednesday.

The Peru concert will be held at Lima’s Jockey Club del Peru, which is the same venue that K-pop heavyweights Big Bang and Super Junior each performed last November and this April, respectively.

While more dates and venues for the tour are set to be announced at a later date, U-KISS will excite Bogota’s Royal Center in Colombia on June 23 and then Mexico City’s JOSE CUERVO SALON the following Friday.

The seven-member group’s popularity has been notable outside of Korea: BBC World News covered the band’s overwhelming popularity in Peru with a news segment titled “Peru Goes Mad for Korean Boy Band” last November.
