Korean idols Lee Joon of boy band MBLAQ and Jiyeon of girl group T-ara will lend their voices for Hollywood animated feature “Gnomeo & Juliet,” according to the film’s local provider Showbox on Thursday.

Showbox announced in a press release that Lee Joon will act the voice of Gnomeo, a blue gnome who falls in love with a red gnome named Juliet, which will be voiced by Jiyeon in the animated version of William Shakespeare’s play of “Romeo and Juliet.”

“Gnomeo & Juliet,” helmed by “Shrek 2” director Kelly Asbury, tells the story of two garden gnomes named Gnomeo and Juliet, who try to avoid tragedy and see a happy ending with their star-crossed love affair when they get caught up in a feud between neighbors. The flick will open in local theaters in April.

Lee Joon is the rapper of the five-member boy band MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality). The group made their debut in 2009 with their single album “JUST BLAQ” and has been promoting their title track “Again” from the 3D edition of their first full-length album “BLAQ Style.”

Jiyeon made her singing debut in the seven member girl group T-ara in July 2009 with singles “Lies” and “Wanna Play.” Outside of her group activities, Jiyeon is an emcee on MBC’s music program “Music Central” and has appeared in movies “Death Bell 2 (2010)” and “Jungle Fish 2 (2011).”
