Korean solo artist Baek Ji-young may release a new album in Japan in September.
An official with her agency WM Entertainment told TenAsia on Thursday that they are considering a September release of Baek’s second album in Japan but have not decided on any details, downplaying a report by Japanese media outlet PIA News that earlier in the day had said it will be released on September 25.
The official then explained that the album’s release could be postponed depending on Baek’s condition – she suffered a miscarriage late last month.
The official also said they do not know what form of album will be released and that they have not decided on whether the title tune will be “Don’t Forget This Love” (translated title), which was the soundtrack for drama “IRIS II: New Generation.”
Baek, 37, has been considered one of the strongest female singers in the Korean music scene since her debut in 1999.
She made her debut in Japan with the Japanese version of her soundtrack to SBS’s smash hit drama “Secret Garden” in May of last year.
