Korean songstress BoA will bring romance to the small screen this fall with actor Choi Daniel.
BoA has decided to take on her first TV acting role opposite Choi in KBS’s 2-part pilot episodes of series “Expect to Date” (translated title), the drama’s promoter Y Tree Media said in a press release Friday.
The idol-to-artist star will portray a girl named Joo Yeon-ae, who always dates bad boys, while Choi will take on a boy named Cha Gi-dae, a skilled dating coach who gets to teach dating skills to Joo.
“I’m charmed with BoA’s sincere passion and her firm will to do her best in ‘Expect to Date.’ I’m also highly looking forward to working with her as an actor,” the drama’s producer Lee Eun-jin was quoted as saying.
While the production crew is aiming to air the drama in September, they’re still negotiating on the airing schedule of the frank love story between a boy and girl in their twenties, a Y Tree Media official told TenAsia over the phone.
The official added that the pilot drama would get extended by several episodes or see a second season if there are positive responses for the new romantic drama.
Meanwhile, BoA’s big screen debut feature “Make Your Move 3D,” the dance movie helmed by U.S.-Korea joint production, hit Norwegian theaters last Friday, and is set to open in Belgium, Denmark and Netherlands in order next week.
