K-pop boy band 2PM member Junho’s thriller pic “Cold Eyes” has been invited to Toronto International Film Festival, the film’s promoter said on Wednesday.
1st Look said through a press release that the film was invited to the 38th Toronto International Film Festival’s main Gala Presentations section.
The Gala Presentation is the main section of the film festival where a red carpet event will be held, showing actors, actress and film directors.
“Cold Eyes” will be the third Korean film invited to the film fest, following “The Housemaid” (2010) and Lee Byung-hun’s ” The Good, the Bad and the Weird” (2008).
The film fest’s Asia programmer Giovanna Fulvi, who flew into Korea to attend the film’s VIP premiere event, was quoted as saying that “Cold Eyes” was very interesting and intense throughout its running time. It was so attractive that he had to watch it twice despite his tight schedule.
Directors Kim Byeong-seo, Joh Ui-seok, and actors Jung Woo-sung, Han Hyo-joo, Seol Kyung-gu and 2PM’s Junho will attend the film fest.
Meanwhile, the film has garnered more than 4 million moviegoers since its release in Korean theaters on July 3, making it the fourth most-watched Korean film this year.
