IU’s KBS weekend drama “You Are the Best!” was cemented atop the weekly TV charts for eight weeks running.

“You Are The Best” took its eighth crown after drawing in an average viewership of 27.9 percent during the week of August 12 to August 18, AGB Nielson Korea showed on Monday.

In last week’s episodes, Lee Soon-shin’s (IU) family members finally found out the truth behind the death of Lee’s father and Lee found her way back to Shin Jun-ho (Cho Jung-seok), arousing audiences’ curiosity of how the show will make its exit next week.

KBS’s weekday drama “A Tale of Two Sisters” took the runner-up spot after pulling in an average rating of 20.9 percent, while the MBC’s weekend drama “Pots of Gold” took the third spot by drawing in an average score of 19.6 percent.

While MBC variety show “Where Are We Going, Dad? / Real Man” stepped up three slots to the fourth spot with an average rating of 17.5 percent, KBS comedy program “Gag Concert” rounded off the top five with an average mark of 17.4 percent.

Other notable programs that were enjoyed last week include KBS’s news program “KBS 9 o’clock News,” SBS’s variety show “The Laws of the Jungle,” MBC’s weekend drama “The Scandal,” SBS’s romcom drama “Mater’s Sun” and KBS’s medical drama “Good Doctor.”

In the meantime, TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistic) also showed the top three programs in the the same order with slight difference in the figures.

While “You Are The Best!” topped the chart with an average score of 26.2 percent, “A Tale of Two Sisters” and “Pots of Gold” followed in the second and third spot with an average viewership of 21.9 percent and 17.8 percent, respectively.
