Korean girl group Girl’s Day will participate in a good deed as honorary ambassadors for charity.
Girl’s Day has been chosen as the honorary ambassadors for Plan Korea and will be leaving to Chiang Mai, Thailand next Tuesday to look into the issue of girls in developing countries, their agency Dream T Entertainment said in a press release Monday.
The volunteer work is part of campaign dubbed “Because I am a girl,” which is made to address the issue of gender discrimination, promote rights of girls and bring millions of girls out of poverty around the world.
The group also joined the appointment ceremony along with a mini concert at a water park near Seoul, Korea this afternoon, drawing the public’s attention in girls who is suffering gender discrimination or poverty.
Plan Korea is the Korean branch of the global children’s charity Plan International, which works to achieve sustainable development in 48 countries across Asia, Africa and the America.
The girls released their summer tune “Please Tell Me” at the end of July and wrapped up promotional activities on SBS’s “Inkigayo” last Sunday.
