Korean girl group 2NE1 member CL and boy band Big Bang’s G-Dragon are competing for best new international pop artist in a poll by U.S. TV channel Fuse.
The two are listed among six international artists such as Mexico’s Belinda and Japan’s Kyary Pamyu Pamyu in a vote that kicked off Monday and will end September 10, Fuse’s website showed on Friday.
The website stated that CL “caught our eye during the girl group’s U.S. arena tour and proved her solo appeal by unleashing her debut single in May” while G-Dragon “… also stopped in America for four arena shows, dropping a new LP this month reportedly featuring Diplo, Missy Elliot and Baauer.”
The poll is currently under way in 12 genres including pop, R&B, and indie rock, and whoever wins the most votes in his or her respective category, will move onto a second round of votes and compete in broader divisions.
The Fuse Favorite will be picked after a final third round and Fuse will do an exclusive feature on the final winner.
