K-pop girl group Girl’s Day member Minah has scored her first award at a film festival with her debut film.
Girl’s Day member Minah has won the Best New Actress Award at the 13th Gwangju International Film Festival (GIFF) for her film ” HOLLY,” an official with the girl’s agency DreamT Entertainment told TenAsia on Thursday.
Unfortunately, Minah couldn’t attend the award ceremony because of her overseas schedule in Thailand to participate in a good deed as an honorary ambassador for charity Plan Korea, the official explained.
She handed in the award from the festival’s organizing committee in Seoul last Friday along with actor Shin Hyun-joon who won the Best Star Award.
Minah made her big screen debut with a high school student role who is dreaming to be a ballerina in “HOLLY,” which hit Korean theaters this June.
Minah is currently busy shooting up-coming film “We Lend a Dad” (translated title), which cranked in on August 30.
