Korean singer-and-actor Kim Dong-wan of K-pop group SHINHWA has been cast in new musical starting this November.
Kim will take the leading role in upcoming musical “The passer-through-walls,” whose original French title is “Le passe-muraille,” his promoter The J Story said in a press release Monday.
Opening at Seoul’s Hongik Daehangno Art center from November 13 to next January 26, the musical centers on postman Dutilleul who comes to live extraordinary life after finding out his ability to pass through walls.
“The passer-through-walls” will mark Kim’s comeback to the musical scene in two years after his shocking transformation in popular musical “Hedwig the Angry Inch,” where he brought in lots of overseas fans from China, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Other cast members to share the stage with the 33-year-old star include actors Lee Jong-hyuk of Girls’ Generation Sooyoung’s tvN drama “Dating Agency: Cyrano” and Go Chang-suk of Joo Won’s KBS medical series “Good Doctor.”
