Korean TV series “Can We Get Married” starring actors Sung Joon and Jung So-min hit airwaves in Japan yesterday.
The 20-part love comedy drama began its air on Japanese major channel TBS on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in local time, the show’s original broadcaster JTBS said in a press release Thursday.
“As the series gained deep sympathy with its realistic portrayal of marriage, it is expected to arouse the same from Japanese viewers,” said Song Won-seob, the team head of promotion and marketing department of JTBC.
Chosen as the new series of TBS’s regular spot to introduce Korean dramas, dubbed ‘Hallyu Select,’ the Korean series is JTBC’s first drama series to hit air on Japanese major channels ever since the channel’s launch in December 2011.
Co-starring veteran actress Lee Mi-sook and model-turned-actor Kim Young-kwang, “Can We Get Married” was produced by Kim Yoon-cheol of MBC’s hit romantic comedy “My Name is Kim Sam-soon” and written by scriptwriter Hah Myeong-hee of KBS’s situation drama “Love and War.”
