Korean actor Choi Woo-shik will take his first leading role in a feature film in two years after his debut.
Choi has been cast in Korean independent feature film, tentatively titled “Tears,” his agency JYP Entertainment said through a press release Tuesday.
The new film will center on inner disorder and uneasy emotion of 18-year-old boy Young-jae, who enters an orphanage by himself from poor family circumstances and hatred toward his family members.
Helmed by rising film auteur Kim Tae-yong whose short “Frozen Land” shortlisted in the Cannes International Film Festival in 2010, “Tears” will start filming in December aiming to open in the next half of 2014.
The “Rooftop Prince” star is currently appearing on SBS’s “A Heart Beats” (translated title), the real variety show which features celebrities’ experience as firefighters, spending days and nights with real firefighters.
